Deep lacerations or cuts may require surgery to determine any damage to muscle, tendons, nerves, blood vessels or bone.
We will evaluate and prepare your wound for repair, depending on your medical history, your wound’s severity and location, and any related injuries. We may recommend a preventative tetanus shot or X-rays to reveal any foreign matter. We also may close your cut with wound tape, adhesive, stitches or staples to reduce scarring. We may recommend plastic surgery if your wound is severe.
