Rotator cuff repair is surgery to mend a torn tendon in the shoulder—usually one that is either completely torn or damaged beyond the point of responding to physical therapy or rest.
Depending on your injury, our surgeons will perform traditional or arthroscopic surgery to attach your tendons to your shoulder bone using small rivets, or pins, to anchor the tissue. Arthroscopic surgery is the least invasive, allowing us to make repairs using a small camera and miniature surgical tools inserted through small incisions. The pins are metal or a material that will dissolve over time.
