Ballet offers a new routine for children with special needs

Young children with special needs learned ballet positions to pirouette and plié their way to new opportunities to move and express themselves through dance. Orlando Ballet company dancers were en pointe with an innovative program to provide dance lessons to children with physical challenges. Orlando Health team members worked with the dancers to provide helpful tips and instruction for choreography.

Jennifer Bowling, PT, DPT, physical therapist; Katie Kinder, OTR/L, C/NDT, supervisor; and Angie Krahn, PT, DPT, physical therapist, all part of the Rehabilitation Services Team at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, moved from the gym to the dance studio to help their patients outside the usual rehabilitation setting.
