Andrea Ferrara, MD, is a consultant surgeon for UF Health Cancer Center – Orlando Health, specializing in colon and rectal surgery. He currently serves as the associate program director for Orlando Health’s Colon and Rectal PGY VI Residency Program, and is also the associate program director for the Advanced Colorectal Minimally Invasive Surgical Fellowship. He is also the clinical director for the Pelvic Floor Laboratory at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando. Dr. Ferrara is board certified through both the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American Board of Surgery.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Rome Medical School, Dr. Ferrera trained in General Surgery at the State University of New York in New York City, and at the Yale University Surgical Program in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Ferrara specializes in laparoscopic assisted resection for benign and malignant colorectal disease, and surgical treatment for ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
