Four Orlando Health Hospitals Earn Top Hospital Designations
Orlando Health’s Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, ORMC, Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital have been designated as Top Hospitals in the country by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization. Hospitals recognized as top performers have better systems in place to prevent medication errors, higher quality on maternity care and high-risk procedures, and lower readmission rates than other hospitals.
“This prestigious award affirms the efforts our teams put forth every day to provide patients with safe, high-quality care,” said David Strong, president and CEO, Orlando Health. “We are very pleased that these hospitals are among fewer than six percent nationwide to earn this designation, and extremely proud of their efforts and focus on continuous quality improvement.”
The Top Hospital designation recognizes the highest-performing hospitals in The Leapfrog Hospital Survey and is widely cited as one of the nation’s most competitive quality awards.
•Arnold Palmer Hospital is one of only 10 in the nation to earn the Top Children’s Hospital designation.
•ORMC and Winnie Palmer Hospital are among only 36 hospitals to be named Top Teaching Hospitals.
•Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is one of only 45 hospitals in the country to be designated a Top General Hospital.
For hospitals to receive the designation, they must meet The Leapfrog Group’s high standards that are established and defined in each year’s Top Hospitals Methodology.
To qualify for the Top Hospitals distinction, hospitals must submit a Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The selection of Top Hospitals 2017 is based on surveys from nearly 1,900 hospitals. To see the full list of institutions honored as 2017 Top Hospitals, visit www.leapfroggroup.org/tophospitals.
