Orlando, FL (June 24, 2022) – Orlando Health has named Brian Wetzel president of Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital effective July 1, 2022. He replaces Ohme Entin, who will become the chief operating officer for Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) effective June 27. Mr. Wetzel is currently president of Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital, a hospital he opened in January 2020 as chief operating officer.

Clermont, FL (June 29, 2022) – Orlando Health South Lake Hospital has received the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Silver for implementing hospital-wide best practices and educating parents and caregivers on sleep safety to help prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). A recognition conferred by Cribs for Kids, a national organization that advocates for the standardization of safe sleep practices in alignment with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines, the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification confers recognitions at a bronze, silver and gold level.

Orlando, Fla. (February 21, 2023) – Cardiovascular surgeons at Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute are scrubbing in for heart surgery with robotic assisted technology. The robotic cardiac surgery program is currently the only program of its kind in Orlando, providing robotic-assisted surgery for structural and valve disease.

Orlando, Fla. (May 2, 2022) --- Orlando Health Air Care Team's Miles Morgan was recently recognized with the 2022 Liberty Shield Award from the Orange County Bar Association. The award recognizes a first responder who demonstrates exemplary services to the health or safety of the community. Morgan, CCEMT-P, critical care flight paramedic, received the award at the association’s Law Week Luncheon on April 28, 2022.

(May 15, 2022) --- Mary Janette Sendin, clinical nurse specialist, Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, was recently recognized with the 2022 Circle of Excellence award from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Sendin, MSN, APRN-CNS, CCNS, PCCN, is the only recipient in Florida for this year.
