Program Highlights
- Diverse clinical training and experience in a wide range of liver conditions including but not limited to viral hepatitis, metabolic liver diseases, alcohol associated liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, cirrhosis and its complications, portal hypertension, hepatic vein thrombosis, genetic liver diseases such as hemochromatosis, Wilson disease and alpha-1 antitrypsin associated liver disease, acute liver failure, hepatocellular carcinoma, evaluation of a prospective liver transplant candidate, long-term management of a post-liver transplant patient, and pregnancy specific liver diseases.
- Longitudinal clinic caring for patients with diverse liver conditions.
- Didactic sessions including case presentations in hepatology, core conferences, journal clubs and histopathology conferences.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary liver tumor conference.
- Research projects and clinical trial participation. Fellows are expected to participate in and/or initiate research projects under the mentorship of the faculty member, publish and present at national meetings.
- Access to unique educational initiatives organized by the Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute with internationally reputed faculty.
