Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Opens New Clinic In Melbourne
Orthopedic experts will offer the latest diagnostic and treatment options
Orlando, FL (December 16, 2024) – The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is thrilled to open a new clinic in Melbourne this week, expanding its unparalleled orthopedic and sports medicine care to the Space Coast. The practice will serve as a one-stop-shop for patients suffering from various musculoskeletal injuries or conditions.
The clinic includes 15 exam rooms, one casting room, and a rehabilitation space. On-site imaging technology such as X-ray and MRI will provide patients with high quality images and a timely diagnosis. Walk-in orthopedic and sports medicine care will be available Monday through Friday, offering patients immediate specialized care without making an appointment.
“It’s exciting to build upon the growing presence of Orlando Health in this community,” said Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute president Michael Jablonski, MD. “We have highly trained physicians and team members and the latest technology in place so that people can expect top quality care and an excellent patient experience when they walk through our doors.”
Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute physicians Hunter Rafoth, MD and Kyle Cox, MD will be based out of the Brevard County clinic. Dr. Cox is a fellowship-trained orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon and Dr. Rafoth is a board-certified primary care sports medicine physician.
Dr. Cox is an Orlando native who completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Central Florida and played soccer for the Knights.
“With two young kids, my wife and I wanted to move to the Melbourne area, where she grew up and her family still resides. Teaming up with Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute was a match made in heaven because it allows me the opportunity to fulfill my goals of providing high-quality sports medicine care to this community while also getting to live close to our loved ones,” said Dr. Cox.
On-site also includes the Orlando Health Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center, offering orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy. Board-certified physical therapists work closely with a patient’s physician to create individualized treatment therapy plans and use a progressive, specialized approach to recovery. This clinic has an Alter-G, and anti-gravity treadmill, to promote a faster return to walking and running. Therapy services also include dry needling, manual therapy, cupping, sound assisted soft tissue massage, blood flow restriction and kinesiology taping. Kinesiology taping is flexible tape mimicking skin used to help reduce pain, stimulate muscle, inhibit muscle, reduce swelling and reduce bruising, depending on how it’s applied.
The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute clinic in Melbourne is located at 5565 N. Wickham Rd. Walk-in hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To contact the office, you may call (321) 843-5851.
