Orlando Health Hospitals Earn ‘A’ Grades for Patient Safety

Orlando Health South Lake Hospital in Clermont continues ‘A’ streak

Orlando, FL (May 6, 2026) Orlando Health South Lake Hospital has earned its 16th consecutive ‘A’ grade from the Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit organization committed to driving quality, safety and transparency in the United States health system. As the trusted community hospital for more than 75 years, it remains the only A-rated hospital in Lake County.

Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital and Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital, along with Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, also earned ‘A’ grades in the spring 2026 reporting period.

“We are incredibly proud of the ‘A’ grades and our teams who deliver the highest quality care every day,” said Suzanne Worthington, chief quality officer, Orlando Health. “These results reinforce the high standards we hold ourselves to when it comes to accountability, safety, and strengthening our patients’ trust in us.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that cause more than 500 mortalities a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
