Why Orlando Health ORMC: Being raised in Texas and going to school in California taught me that I NEED the sun to function and thus applied very geographically for residency, with Florida’s weather certainly making the cut. Only having visited a few times for vacation and volleyball, I was unfamiliar with the state and did not know what to expect from virtual interviews, but ORMC blew me away and has certainly delivered. It was just what I was looking for - a large program at a level 1 trauma center with strong faculty, a unique and diverse patient population with high acuity presentations, and a hospital that supports resident wellness - but what stood out were my conversations and interactions that were both equally genuine as they were funny. The team chemistry in the ED is palpable. Every shift I feel so lucky that I get to learn from some of the best teachers I’ve ever had, while also laughing with my well-rounded coresidents and attendings while doing it. Did I mention we also do lots of other things outside of work too??? Beach days, breweries, sports, trivia, boats, happy hours, concerts, and Disney visits…just to name a few!

Hobbies & Interests: Volleyball, concerts and music festivals, hiking, lounging at the beach, traveling, exercise, napping, brunch, and board games, especially Catch Phrase

Favorite on shift snack / beverage: Celsius, Takis, and/or fruit
