CORE CURRICULUM

The Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute provides fellows with a comprehensive curriculum of clinical, procedural and sideline coverage experiences.  

State of the art facilities, experienced faculty and diverse athletic settings provide for exceptional and truly unique learning experiences. The curriculum combines extensive clinical exposure with training in diagnosis and management of orthopedic conditions, MSK procedures, orthobiologics, diagnostic ultrasound as well as sideline and training room coverage ranging from high school to Division 1, Division 2 collegiate and professional athletes.  

The specific MSK Ultrasound curriculum is designed to teach fellows a systematic approach to diagnostic ultrasound, providing a foundation for identifying pathology and performing ultrasound guided procedures.  

One-on-one mentorship, interdisciplinary didactics, flexible elective rotations and research opportunities combine to provide a training experience that is structured but allows fellows to foster their individual interests in sports medicine.

The PCSM fellowship at Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute provides comprehensive exposure to common and cutting-edge procedures in orthopedics and sports medicine.  Graduating fellows will be experienced and comfortable performing advanced sports medicine procedures including: 

Ultrasound guided joint injections
Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Hip, Knee, Ankle, Foot
Aspirations
Corticosteroid injections
Hyaluronic Acid injections
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Prolotherapy
Tenex – ultrasonic tenotomy
