Application Process
Requirements
- Submission of an Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) application is the only method of applying to the residency.
- Participation in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) is the only route for acceptance into the program.
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) is required. Step 1 is required with the initial ERAS application. Successful completion of Steps 1 and 2 is preferred prior to the start of residency training.
- Successful graduation from an accredited medical school is required prior to the start of residency training.
- Applicants must be United States citizens or eligible for J-1 visa sponsorship. Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center does not sponsor visas.
- Applicants must have received an MD or DO degree from an approved school of medicine within three years of applying to the residency program.
- International Medical Graduates must have a valid ECFMG certificate. Applicants must pass USMLE Steps 1 and 2 on the first attempt with a score of 220 or higher. Some U.S. clinical experience is required.
Application Requirements
All applications for first-year positions are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) along with the following documentation:
- Dean's Letter (MSPE)
- Medical School Transcript
- Personal Statement
- USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 Scores
- Professional Headshot
- Two Letters of Recommendation

Deadline
Submit completed application by October 23rd.
Interviews
Invitations for interviews are extended following review of each completed application. Interviews are conducted from November to the end of January. During the interview, candidates will have the opportunity to interact with current residents. On the day of the interview, candidates will receive an overview of the program, virtual tour of our facilities, and attend morning report. They will also meet with our program director and interview with two faculty members. Question and answer session is hosted by one of our chief residents as well as our residents at various levels of training.
