The Trauma Nurse Leader (TNL) Program
The Trauma Nurse Leader (TNL) Programs a clinical nurse-led group implemented in the Emergency Department at Orlando Health ORMC in 2019. The program stemmed from bedside nurses’ desire to take ownership in trauma education improvement and collaborate with the Trauma Program to drive improved outcomes in trauma care. The TNL group consists of a core group of clinical expert nurses, with specialized training in trauma, emergency care and the trauma process. The main objective is to ensure the highest quality of care is available to each trauma patient, identify and resolve any patient care issues, and facilitate timely transition to definitive care area.
