Orlando Health hospitals earn Best Hospital and High Performing Hospital recognition from U.S. News & World Report

Orlando, Fla. – July 27, 2021 – Orlando Health hospitals have been recognized as Best Hospitals and High Performing Hospitals for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report.

Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC), Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital and Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital earned Best Hospital designations for Central Florida. The organization also ranked No. 2 in the Orlando Metro Area, and ranked No. 8 in Florida.

As a High Performing Hospital in several specialties, Orlando Health was recognized for care that was significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes. “High Performing” is the highest rating U.S. News awards for those types of care.

Orlando Health rated high performing in aortic valve surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, and heart failure. High performing marks were also achieved for back surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, diabetes, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, and stroke.

The annualBest Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 32nd year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.

The annual Procedures & Conditions ratings, now in their 7^th year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for common conditions and elective procedures. These ratings extend the U.S. News mission of providing consumers with patient decision support beyond the Best Hospitals rankings, which are geared toward complex specialty care.

For the 2021-22 ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,750 medical centers nationwide in 17 procedures and conditions. Fewer than a third of all hospitals received any high-performing rating. The state and metro area rankings recognize hospitals that received high performing ratings across multiple areas of care.
