Bio
Dr. Erin Thomas is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Bayfront Health Medical Group OB/GYN with expertise in:
- Labor and delivery
- Family planning
- Contraceptive counseling
- Postpartum depression
- Peripartum mental health
- Mental health disorders related to chronic pelvic pain
- Care and counseling of teens and young adults new to gynecologic care
She strives to empower her patients to take charge of their emotional, mental and physical health.
Dr. Thomas’ Training
Dr. Thomas received her bachelor's degree in neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating summa cum laude, and earned her medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She completed her obstetrics/gynecology residency at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center/Mount Carmel Health in Columbus, where she later served as an assistant professor, adviser and a member of its clinical practice.
About Dr. Thomas
Dr. Thomas is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Her published research includes studies in neonatal outcomes in pregnant women undergoing medical assistance for opioid use. She has volunteered as a supervising physician at La Clinica Latina, a free clinic run by Ohio State medical students aiming to serve the Hispanic population in the Columbus area.
Outside of work, Dr. Thomas enjoys cooking, traveling and learning Spanish.
