Gary Kalser, MD, is a board-certified urologist with Orlando Health Medical Group. He specializes in oncology, specifically cryoablation of the prostate. This procedure is used for localized cancer and significantly reduces complications and adverse results, including erectile dysfunction. Additionally, Dr. Kalser has treated more than 100 patients with recurrent cancer after radiation.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, he completed his residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and a urology fellowship at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Kalser has practiced urology for over 30 years in the Orlando area. He was chairman of the department of urology at Orlando Health for two terms and has served on the Board of Directors of Orange County Medical Society.
Dr. Kalser has authored or co-authored more than twenty-six U.S. and international patents involving innovations related to improving patient safety and was recently awarded a U.S. patent for a device used in prostate cryoablation.
He is currently involved in product development of a urinary catheter that will considerably reduce injuries to patients during hospitalization. This device will lessen complications and improve the efficacy and safety of prostate cryoablation.
Dr. Kalser also is a member of the American College of Surgeons and American Urological Association.
