A board-certified orthopedic surgeon with additional certification in hand surgery, Dr. Deren specializes in hand and upper-extremity procedures. He has practiced at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic, where he serves on the executive committee, for more than two decades.
“Every day is a great day because we have the opportunity to give someone a second chance at living,�? he says.
He appreciates watching his patients improve from week to week, no matter how small those changes are. Making a difference in people’s lives, lets him “adjust my focus from one of self to what can I do today to make somebody else’s life better,�? he says.
Dr. Deren completed his medical training and residency at The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (Philadelphia). He performed a hand and upper-extremity fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston).
His professional memberships include the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Society for Surgery. He is a team physician for the University of Central Florida, the Orlando Magic and Rollins College.
