Dr. Kantounis received his medical training at the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio and graduated in 1985. His Internal Medicine and Cardiology Fellowship training was completed at William Beaumont Hospital at Royal Oak, Michigan in 1992.

In addition, he completed an additional year of Interventional Cardiology including Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty, Intracoronary Stent Deployment, Rotoblator and Atherectomy. He also completed his Nuclear Cardiology training during his fellowship and is qualified in interpreting nuclear stress test.

Dr. Kantounis is actively involved in general cardiology/clinical cardiology, noninvasive cardiac testing including stress and resting echocardiography, along with nuclear exercise stress test and interpretation, along with performing coronary angioplasty and intracoronary stent replacement.
