Board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine, Tirrell Johnson, MD, is a medical oncologist at Orlando Health Cancer. Institute He serves as a member of the Hematology, and Thoracic/Head and Neck Cancers Specialty Sections. Dr. Johnson fulfilled a fellowship in hematology/oncology from Brown University Medical School's teaching hospitals in Providence, RI.
He completed a residency in internal medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the University of Florida and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's in chemical engineering from Florida A&M University. Dr. Johnson was the recipient of the Exemplary Physician Colleague Award in 2011, for outstanding multidisciplinary involvement with staff.
Actively involved in medical research during his fellowship and currently at Orlando Health Cancer Institute, Dr. Johnson has served as the primary investigator for several forms of chemotherapy for advanced head and neck cancers and thoracic malignancies. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
