If it is found through our assessment that you are no longer able to function in a work setting, our office will assist in providing the necessary paperwork while you are out of work, whether short- or long-term. This includes, but is not limited to, letters for employers, Human Resources or long-term disability providers. If after assessment the situation appears to be permanent, we will provide any necessary records to Social Security. At times, other testing may be recommended to help determine the extent of disability before applying for Social Security. These tests include repetitive testing and neuropsychological evaluation. Repetitive testing is a series of standard physical therapy and occupational therapy tests that help determine the extent of fatigue on muscles with repeated activity. This type of testing can help the Social Security staff assess your ability to continue to perform repeated activities, such as in a work setting.
