Orlando Health provides Stop the Bleed training to Orange County Public Schools employees, and donates bleeding control kits
Orlando Health and Orange County Public Schools spent the summer break focused on preparedness lessons. The adult and pediatric trauma teams from Orlando Health provided Bleeding Control Basic (BCon) training to principals, assistant principals and other staff; and donated 1,000 bleeding control kits to the district. The training and donation took place during OCPS Safety Days throughout June and July, with final sessions on Monday, July 29.

Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute Acquires Vascular Surgery Practice
ORLANDO, Fla. (November 13, 2019) --- The Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute recently announced the addition of G. Kendrix Adcock, MD, FACS, and Robert Winter, MD, FACS, from Florida Vascular Consultants to the institute’s Vascular Surgery Group. The acquisition of the practice will be effective January 2, 2020.

5th Annual Walk For Winnie Brings Total Raised to Over $1 Million
September 28th marked the 5th annual Walk For Winnie Presented by Panera Breadâ and hosted at SeaWorldâ Orlando. More than $131,000 was raised through online fundraising and about 2,500 people participated in the event, including many Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) graduates and their families, nurses and doctors. Over the past 5 years, we have raised more than $1,188,000 in direct proceeds to the NICU because of your support.

National CPR and AED Awareness Week builds awareness of simple steps to improve chances of survival after cardiac arrest. Recent research shows increase in bystander CPR rate.
Orlando, FL (June 4, 2019) – Two steps and one button can turn a deadly statistic into a stronger chance of survival after cardiac arrest. Calling 9-1-1, administering early CPR - cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and rapid defibrillation (with an AED – automated external defibrillator) are key steps to improve chances of survival and recovery after cardiac arrest.

Orlando Health becomes founding sponsor of the National Pulse Memorial & Museum
Orlando, FL (May 7, 2019) – Orlando Health has become the first sponsor of the National Pulse Memorial & Museum. The $1 million sponsorship will be used for project construction as well as for the establishment of an endowed scholarship that is healthcare related. The scholarship will be named for one of the 49 victims fatally wounded in the 2016 attack.
