Community Grant Program Opening to Team Members
Orlando Health is pleased to once again offer competitive grants through the Orlando Health Community Grant Program. Many team members are personally involved in volunteer efforts in our community, devoting time outside the healthcare system. In recognition of that dedication, the Orlando Health Community Grant Program was created.
As part of our ongoing commitment to Central Florida, these competitive grants will assist in coordinating, enriching, and supporting efforts that help promote health and wellness in the region. Through the program, team members will have the opportunity to pilot ideas or enhance current initiatives that extend beyond our hospital walls. The Orlando Health Community Grant Program is one way Orlando Health is investing back into our community, providing support for the important work being done here in Central Florida.
Last year, a group of Orlando Health nurses in conjunction with Black Nurses Rock-Orlando applied for and received a grant for their HIV/AIDS Nurse Ambassador Program. Through the funding received, 15 nurses were provided toolkits used to increase HIV/AIDS education in our most vulnerable communities. The Arnold Palmer Medical Center Transport Team also received a grant for the second year in a row to fund a program called Car Seats Matter. This allows the team to provide car seats, checkpoints, and instruction to our community.
The timeline for the grant process has changed in an effort to better align with the fiscal year. Applications and supporting documentation for fiscal year 2018 can be submitted beginning October 13 and must be received by November 13.
