Orlando Health Awards $1.1 Million in Grants, Completes Community Health Needs Assessment
Grant recipients are selected based on the findings of the assessment
Orlando, FL (Oct. 10, 2025) – Orlando Health has awarded $1.1 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across Central Florida and Pinellas County as part of its annual community grant program and in line with the recent completion of the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment.
Selected nonprofits receive the full awarded amount at the start of the grant cycle, making funding immediately available to provide resources to help fill a specific health- or wellness-related need. The grants this year are aligned with the findings of the newly released 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment, in which Orlando Health collaborated with local health and community partners to use comprehensive data and community input to identify key health needs and priority areas in the community.
The Community Health Needs Assessment is conducted every three years. As part of the process, residents are engaged in a variety of ways to share their insights into what they think about the health of their communities and how they perceive their own personal health.
“The Community Health Needs Assessment is a critical component in identifying the highest priority areas impacting the health of our communities today,” said Sara Osborne, senior director, Orlando Health Community Benefit. “By making investments annually and providing grant funding in full at the start of the award period, we’re able to support an immediate impact and collaborate with exceptional community partners who are actively working toward improving health and wellness outcomes in the areas we serve.”
This year, Orlando Health has selected access to care as its top priority, which includes a focus on healthcare access and quality and economic stability, among other factors. Past areas of focus have included food insecurity, socioeconomic challenges, mental and behavioral health and more.
Orlando Health has a long-standing tradition of assessing health needs to provide residents with the support needed to attain optimal health outcomes. In 2024, Orlando Health issued $1 million in grants to address the 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment. Since the launch of the grant program in 2016, Orlando Health has awarded more than $6.4 million in grant funding to nonprofits in its communities.
