When to Visit a Urologist
The most common reason to visit a urologist is urinary incontinence. More than 17 million people in the United States suffer from this condition, which is the inability to control the release of urine. However, urological conditions are not limited to incontinence. Patients may experience other symptoms that are painful and difficult to manage without the help of a specialist such as Dr. Anderson .
What is BHP?
Benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH, is commonly known as an enlarged prostate gland. This condition affects more than 500 million men worldwide and is common as men get older. An enlarged prostate gland may be uncomfortable as it block the flow of urine out of the bladder. Other effects may be bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.
Dr. Anderson offers several effective treatments for prostate gland enlargement, including medications, minimally invasive therapies and surgery. One option may be the minimally invasive UroLift® system, which is regarded as a safe, effective treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms.
