Bio
Dr. Axel Anderson is a board-certified urologist with Orlando Health Medical Group Urology and designated as a UroLift Center of Excellence. With 41 years of experience caring for patients, he specializes in treating diseases and conditions of the male and female urinary tract and male reproductive system.
Dr. Anderson provides surgical and nonsurgical treatments for conditions affecting the bladder, kidneys and reproductive organs, including:
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
- Prostate ultrasound
- Urinary incontinence
- Overactive bladder
- Cystoscopy
- Kidney stones
- Robotic surgery
- Prostatic urethral lift
- InterStim surgical implant device
Dr. Anderson has extensive, specialized training in use of the UroLift System, a minimally invasive treatment for an enlarged prostate, a prostatic urethral lift. He has been designated as a Center of Excellence, a recognition awarded to only to a small number of highly qualified urologists who achieve the best results for their patients with the UroLift procedure.
Dr. Anderson’s Training
Dr. Anderson received his medical training at Ross University in Roseau, Dominica, and his undergraduate degree in psychology and zoology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed a surgery residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville and a urology residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, where he served as chief resident.
