Bio
Dr. John Sullebarger is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. He uses minimally invasive procedures to treat heart conditions, and his expertise includes:
- Hypertension
- Hyperlipidemia
- Cardiomyopathy
- Congestive heart failure
- Structural heart disease
- Coronary intervention and stenting
- Peripheral vascular angiography and intervention
- Congenital heart disease
Dr. Sullebarger has more than 40 years of experience, and he does his best to improve his patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Sullebarger’s Training
Dr. Sullebarger graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He completed an internal medicine residency and a cardiology fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.
About Dr. Sullebarger
Dr. Sullebarger is a fellow of several organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine with board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Sullebarger’s research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, and he also serves as a reviewer for several publications. His research interests include coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease and congestive heart failure.
He was an assistant professor at the University of Rochester and associate professor and interventional cardiology program director at the University of South Florida, and chief of cardiology at Tampa General Hospital.
Outside of work, Dr. Sullebarger enjoys hiking, scuba diving, ballroom dancing and winter sports. He also is involved in international charity work.
Dr. Sullebarger is fluent in English, Spanish and German.

Why do some Orlando Health physicians not have a patient experience rating?
The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
