Nilamba Jhala, MD, is a board-certified infectious disease physician with Orlando Health Medical Group Infectious Disease. She specializes in the diagnoses and treatment of complex conditions such as hepatitis, pneumonia, meningitis and HIV.
Infectious Disease Treatment
Dr. Jhala provides infectious disease treatment for microbes causing the immune system to have adverse reactions such as high fever, fatigue, inflammation and more. She uses many diagnostic procedures to determine the cause of illness and establish a treatment plan. Disease management may include the following and more:
- Antibiotic therapy

- Management of infectious complications during chemotherapy

Dr. Jhala’s Training
Dr. Jhala earned her medical degree from M.P. Shaw Medical College in India before completing an internal medicine residency at Case Western University’s St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland. She finished her postdoctoral training with a fellowship in infectious disease at Orlando Health.

Dr. Jhala’s work has appeared in peer-reviewed publications, and she previously served as a clinical assistant professor at Case Western University’s Lerner College of Medicine and the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
