Paul Massimiano, MD, is a board-certified thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon with the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute. He has provided patients comprehensive cardiac surgical care for more than 30 years and is known as an expert in minimally invasive heart surgery, in particular minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, which he helped develop. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Massimiano also serves as the Institute's medical director of cardiac surgery.
Experienced Cardiac and Vascular Care
Narrow or blocked arteries, known as coronary artery disease, are a common condition and require experienced cardiac and vascular care from a board-certified surgeon like Dr. Massimiano. Patients with advanced coronary artery disease may experience a severe cardiac event such as intense chest pain, heart attack or stroke and require emergency attention.
Whether it is a scheduled or emergency procedure, Dr. Massimiano provides patients the most current surgical treatments available. For many patients, minimally invasive procedures, including angioplasty and stents, are appropriate, while others may require bypass surgery or another more invasive intervention.
