Dr. Sameer Ahmed is a board-certified interventional cardiologist with Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. He uses minimally invasive procedures to treat heart conditions, and his expertise includes:

Dr. Ahmed’s Training
He earned a bachelor's degree in biomedical science at the University of South Florida in Tampa and received his medical training from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, where he served as chief resident in his final year. His training continued with fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He was chief fellow his final year.
About Dr. Ahmed
Dr. Ahmed is a fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and American College of Cardiology. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, and in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals. He has volunteered for the Shiners Hospital for Children in Tampa and So Others Might Eat, a Washington, D.C., organization providing medical care, food and clothing to underserved populations.
Outside of work, Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending time with family, community engagement, hockey and Formula 1 racing.
He is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi.

Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
