Umair Tariq, MD, is an internal medicine physician and critical care medicine physician with the Orlando Health Physicians Group. Board-certified in internal medicine, his areas of practice include internal medicine, critical care medicine and neurocritical care medicine.
Dr. Tariq earned his medical degree from Medical University of the Americas in Charlestown, Nevis, West Indies. He completed his internal medicine residency at WellSpan York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, followed by a neurocritical care fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and a critical care medicine fellowship at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Additional areas of interest for Dr. Tariq include traumatic brain injury, neurogenic and spinal shock, intracerebral hemorrhage, intracranial tumors, right heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrest and hemodynamics, and acute coronary syndromes.
Dr. Tariq has first-authored several articles and poster presentations for the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and American College of Physicians.
