Orlando Health Hospitals Recognized for Patient Safety with A Grades
All eligible Orlando Health hospitals received A grades in the most recent rating period by The Leapfrog Group, a patient safety advocacy organization. The hospitals are ORMC, Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, South Seminole Hospital, South Lake Hospital, in affiliation with Orlando Health, and Health Central Hospital. The Leapfrog Group does not grade specialty hospitals like Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer Hospital.

Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Downtown Complex Begins Welcoming Patients
The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute is excited to begin welcoming patients to its new, downtown complex on March 27. During the first phase opening of the facility, guests will be able to access imaging, lab and pharmacy services, a 62-exam room clinic, the ambulatory surgery center and rehabilitation space.

300th Heart Patient Receives New Valve Technology at Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute
New technology to replace heart valves has helped 300 hearts beat stronger and longer. The Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Program at the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute recently reached the 300-patient milestone in just under six years. Initially, TAVR was used to treat severe aortic stenosis in patients who were at high or extreme risk for surgery. As the national experience with TAVR has increased, guidelines now also allow TAVR to be offered to select patients deemed to be intermediate risk for surgery. Untreated, aortic valve stenosis can lead to serious heart problems including heart failure and even death.

The following five Orlando Health Hospitals received Leapfrong 'A' Grades for patient safety for the fall 2023 reporting period: Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC), Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital, Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital and Orlando Health South Lake Hospital. This is Orlando Health South Lake Hospital's 11th consecutive ‘A’ grade and the fifth ‘A’ grade in a row for Orlando Health ORMC and Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips.
