  • High school students train with trauma experts

    Orlando, FL (January 17, 2020) – Local high school students added important tools to their medical kits. More than 450 students from Boone High School’s Academy of Health Science, and Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps participated in hands-on training in bleeding control, distracted driving prevention, and burn safety. The full day of learning on January 14 was part of a community outreach event by Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST), Orlando Health, and Orange County Public Schools. EAST hosted its 33rd Annual Scientific Assembly this week in Orlando.

  • Orlando Health Launches Preferred Education Program

    Orlando, FL (November 12, 2020) – Orlando Health team members who want to pursue an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or certificate at Valencia College, can do so without incurring any out-of-pocket costs. Effective December 1, 2020, the healthcare system will launch its Preferred Education Program which allows team members to attend Valencia College and pay nothing upfront. Orlando Health will pay 100 percent of the cost of tuition and books directly to the college, up to the annual cap limit for full-time and part-time team members.
