  • Orlando Health Donates Medical Supplies to Ukraine

    Orlando, FL (April 20, 2022) – Orlando Health has donated 20 pallets of medical supplies, valued at nearly $80,000, to be used in war-torn Ukraine. Included in the shipment of more than 4,500 individual items are materials to address numerous medical needs including orthopedic and other wounds; supplies to assist in surgeries and emergency situations; even pediatric materials to care for children and obstetric supplies to assist women and infants. Donated items include:

    Orlando, FL (July 11, 2022) – Orlando Health is expanding in the Tampa Bay area with plans for a new hospital in Wiregrass Ranch, a high-quality, master-planned community of more than 5,000 acres.  Located at the northeast corner of the intersection of State Road 56 and Wiregrass Ranch Boulevard, Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital will be easily accessible for residents living in Pasco County and northern Hillsborough County.

  • Bayfront Health & Other Facilities in the Tampa Bay Region Align Under Orlando Health Name

    St. Petersburg, FL (February 20, 2024) – Since October 2020, Pinellas County’s only Adult Trauma center has experienced significant enhancements and been a wonderful addition to the Orlando Health network of hospitals and medical facilities. In its continued commitment to Tampa Bay, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg is proud to add its parent company’s name and transition to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, starting March 1st. 

  • Orlando Health and Florida Department of Health Team Up to Develop Innovative Newborn Screening Process

    Orlando, FL (August 15, 2019) – Orlando Health has teamed up with the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) to develop a more efficient and accurate way to collect mandated health data from newborn babies. Before leaving the hospital, five drops of blood are collected from babies and sent to FDOH to screen for 54 medical disorders, including cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anemia. It is crucial that the blood samples are sent and read quickly so that physicians and parents can move forward with additional testing or treatment. If not treated in a timely manner, some of these abnormalities can be life-threatening.

  • Orlando Health Hospitals Named to the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® List

    Orlando, FL (April 27, 2021) – Multiple Orlando Health hospitals have been named to the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list. Orlando Health South Lake was named in the medium community hospital category and, in addition, received special recognition as an Everest Award winner. Everest Award winners are hospitals that earned the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals designation and had the highest rates of improvement during a five-year period. Orlando Health South Lake is one of only 20 hospitals to receive the Everest Award and one of only two in the medium community hospital category.

  • Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital, under Orlando Health ownership, announces one-year anniversary milestones

  • Orlando Health Celebrates Topping Out of Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute

    Orlando, FL (December 13, 2021) – Today Orlando Health leaders, physicians, team members, and community partners came together to celebrate a major milestone in the construction of the new orthopedic medical complex currently underway on Orlando Health’s booming downtown Orlando campus. The health system staged a traditional Topping Out ceremony to mark the end of the vertical construction phase of its newest specialty hospital, the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. The ceremony culminated with the final placement of an 11 ft. steel beam that had been signed by hundreds of Orlando Health team members and was sandwiched between two giant replicas of a human femur bone[i].
