Orlando Health signs definitive agreement to purchase Baptist Health
Orlando, FL (August 5, 2024) – Orlando Health, Inc., has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Tenet Healthcare’s majority interest in Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama. Baptist Health was formed in 2015 following a merger agreement between Tenet Healthcare and Baptist Health System. Orlando Health, a private, not-for-profit healthcare organization, will manage day-to-day operations of Baptist Health in partnership with Baptist Health System. Baptist Health System will remain in the partnership and it will remain a faith-based organization.

The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Downtown Complex includes the specialty hospital, which opened August 29, 2023, and adjacent medical pavilion, which opened March 27, 2023. The facility has served more than 280,000 patients to date.
