Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital is Official Milk Depot for Mothers’ Milk Bank of Florida, Inc.
Lake Mary, FL (October 2, 2025) – Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital becomes the first hospital in Seminole County to become a milk drop depot for the Mothers’ Milk Bank of Florida. Mothers who qualify can donate extra breast milk to help nourish premature and at-risk babies in a safe and controlled milk collection point. Recently, Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital received its first donation of 500 ounces of milk from Nicole Wirth of Sanford.

Orlando Health Announces Plans to Build Regional Weight Loss & Bariatric Surgery Institute
Orlando, FL (Feb. 6, 2025) – On Thursday, Orlando Health submitted plans to the City of Orlando to build a state-of-the-art Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Institute that will serve patients throughout the southeastern United States. The two-story, 28,000-square-foot medical office building will be the new home of Orlando Health bariatric service lines including weight- loss surgery, endoscopic procedures, obesity medicine, revision and conversion procedures, robotic procedures and surgical body contouring. The Institute will dedicate space to its psychiatry and nutrition programs, including group meeting spaces and a demonstration kitchen. The Institute will also house an advanced training environment known as a Bioskills Lab.

Orlando Health Unveils Renovated Emergency Department At Central Florida’s Only Level One Trauma Center
Orlando, FL (January 24, 2025) – On Friday, Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) unveiled its completely redesigned and renovated emergency department. Orlando Health ORMC is the proud home of Central Florida’s only Level One Trauma Center. This redesign marks the largest renovation and expansion of the downtown hospital’s emergency department in the last 10 years. The $25 million endeavor was fully funded through philanthropy.

Orlando Health is the First Hospital in Florida to Perform Life-Changing In-Utero Surgery
Orlando, FL (August 28, 2018) – Orlando Health announced today that it is the first hospital system in the state of Florida to perform in-utero surgery to repair spina bifida, a spinal defect developed by the fetus during the early stages of pregnancy. The first surgery took place on May 23, 2018 at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and the mother delivered her baby via C-section on July 10, 2018. To date, the team has successfully performed this operation on three patients and the first two healthy babies have been born.
