Arnold Palmer Hospital Emergency Department Turns 10
Orlando, FL (January 30, 2017) – This month, the emergency department at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children celebrates 10 years of helping critically ill and seriously injured patients. Since opening its doors in 2007, nearly 500,000 children have been treated by the department team. With 33 beds, Arnold Palmer Hospital is home to Central Florida’s only pediatric Level I Trauma Center and is one of the busiest children’s emergency departments in the state.

Orlando Health's Heart Care and Cancer Care Recognized With Highest Quality Rating
Orlando, Fla. (February 1, 2017) --- Orlando Health received its fourth consecutive Overall 3 Star Rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons for providing excellent care to patients undergoing bypass surgery as well as a fourth consecutive 3 Star rating for care delivered to patients having a lobectomy for lung cancer. The organization also received its second consecutive 3 star rating for aortic valve surgery. For the first time the organization received an Overall 3 Star Rating for aortic valve replacement with bypass surgery.

All Orlando Health hospitals receive top grades for patient safety
Orlando, FL (October 31, 2017) – Orlando Health’s Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Health Central Hospital, Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC), South Seminole Hospital, and South Lake Hospital in affiliation with Orlando Health have all received “A” hospital safety grades by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit organization operated by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. Grades are based on a point system that assigns – then calculates – numerical scores of nearly 30 healthcare measures including communication between clinicians and patients, implementation of processes and protocols to promote safe patient care that have been established by the National Quality Forum, and a hospital’s culture.

Orlando, FL (February 25, 2025) – The Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute is expanding its Neuro-Friendly Restaurant Initiative with the Magnolia Yoga & Wellness Center and GoodWay Café in Longwood. The purpose of the program is to increase community inclusion for those living with an acquired brain injury such as a stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumor, or a progressive disorder such as Parkinson’s disease.

UF Health Cancer Center Showcases Patient Artwork at Local Art Exhibition
Orlando, FL (March 27, 2017) – The UF Health Cancer Center – Orlando Health is showcasing artwork created by cancer patients at the ‘Art Meets Medicine’ exhibition. The art exhibition is taking place at City Arts Factory where more than 100 pieces of artwork created by cancer patients are on display. It is organized by the cancer center’s Arts in Medicine program which emphasizes the power of art in the healing process.
