Teen Leadership Council

Special Events

Teens and young adults make up over 25 percent of the population served at Arnold Palmer Hospital. The Child Life team offers a variety of events within the hospital and out in the community to help you get to know other teens and build lifelong friendships while having some fun in a safe and familiar environment.

Community Engagement

It’s our goal that every child has a positive experience at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Our Child Life Program utilizes a variety of items — from craft supplies and toys to snacks and gift cards — to make that happen. To have a supply of these materials at hand, we welcome donations from the community. Please see our Wish List below for needed items. 

Music Therapy Internship Program

Orlando Health is pleased to offer a unique music therapy internship experience.  Interns may choose between a pediatric specific internship or a joint internship spanning both the pediatric and adult populations.  The pediatric internship will be held at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children (OH/APH) and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies (OH/WPH). The joint internship includes rotations at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute and Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC). At OH/APH and OH/WPH, interns will work with pediatric patients in Hematology/Oncology, Intensive Care, General Pediatric, and NICU units. The joint internship will also include work with oncology and trauma patients as well as general adult inpatients. Please indicate on the application your choice of internship (joint or pediatric only).

Surgery and hospitalization can be a very frightening experience for a child of any age. At Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, we have found that offering just the right amount of careful, honest preparation before admission can help your child cope more positively with these experiences.

For Kids!

If you’re a kid or teen visiting us at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, you may not know what to expect. Maybe you’re feeling nervous, angry or even possibly excited. All of these feelings are OK! We understand that visiting the doctor or being sick can be no fun. That’s why we try to make it a good experience. Due to the approach of hurricane Irma to Central Florida, ER online scheduling functionality has been suspended. Online scheduling functionality will be restored once the risk from the storm has passed.
