  • Orlando Health Donates Medical Supplies to Ukraine

    Orlando, FL (April 20, 2022) – Orlando Health has donated 20 pallets of medical supplies, valued at nearly $80,000, to be used in war-torn Ukraine. Included in the shipment of more than 4,500 individual items are materials to address numerous medical needs including orthopedic and other wounds; supplies to assist in surgeries and emergency situations; even pediatric materials to care for children and obstetric supplies to assist women and infants. Donated items include:

    Davenport, FL (April 26, 2022) – To continue to meet the growing need for emergency services driven by Central Florida’s rapidly increasing population, Orlando Health is preparing to open its newest freestanding emergency room, the Orlando Health Emergency Room – Reunion Village. The full-service emergency room will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will be fully staffed by Board-certified emergency room physicians, registered nurses, and other clinicians. Located along the I-4 corridor at 8011 Osceola Polk Line Road in Davenport, the Orlando Health Emergency Room – Reunion Village will be the seventh freestanding emergency room Orlando Health has opened since 2018.

  • Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center researchers show a blood test for traumatic brain injury performs just as well as clinical guidelines, may reduce the need for computed tomography scans

    Orlando, Fla. (March 14, 2022) --- A new study by researchers at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) found a blood test for traumatic brain injury performs just as well as the clinical guidelines emergency medicine physicians use to decide if a patient with a mild traumatic brain injury or concussion needs a computed tomography (CT) scan. The discovery of the high performance TBI biomarkers blood test may improve the detection of brain injuries on CT, while reducing the need for CT scans. The study was recently published in JAMA Network Open, an international, peer-reviewed, open access, general medical journal.

  • Orlando Health Network helps save Medicare and commercial insurers almost $20 million in 2020

    Orlando, FL (March 7, 2022) – Now in its tenth year of existence, Orlando Health Network’s accountable care organization (ACO) achieved success once more by saving the federal government’s Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) and other commercial insurers approximately $19.5 million in healthcare costs through meeting quality and cost goals in 2020. The ACO has saved over $153 million since it began.

Located on the Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital campus, the 54-bed inpatient facility will provide a full range of advanced rehabilitation services and will specialize in care for patients suffering from complex neurological conditions.

  • New details released about Orlando Health Lakeland Highlands Hospital

    Orlando, FL (October 20, 2022) – When the Orlando Health Lakeland Highlands Hospital opens in 2026, it will open with 302 inpatient beds. That’s more than double the originally announced opening bed count of 136 beds.
