  • Arnold Palmer Hospital Emergency Department Turns 10

    Orlando, FL (January 30, 2017) – This month, the emergency department at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children celebrates 10 years of helping critically ill and seriously injured patients. Since opening its doors in 2007, nearly 500,000 children have been treated by the department team. With 33 beds, Arnold Palmer Hospital is home to Central Florida’s only pediatric Level I Trauma Center and is one of the busiest children’s emergency departments in the state.

  • New Name for Pasco County Hospital Announced

    Wesley Chapel, FL (May 7, 2025) – Orlando Health’s new Pasco County hospital will officially open as Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital in 2026. Physicians and executives recently toured the hospital to get a first-hand look at the construction progress and learn more about the facility’s benefits for physicians and patients. “Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital will be a significant asset to the folks in and around Wesley Chapel and Northern Hillsborough County,” said the hospital’s president and Chief Executive Officer of Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health, Joe Delatorre. “This state-of-the-art facility will bring high quality care, incredibly advanced technology, and expand access to talented physicians across the Tampa Bay community. I’m happy to be a part of this growth.”

  • Orlando Health Doctors & UCF Students Team Up to Invent AI Technology for Surgeries

    The project is called the AIMS system (Artificial Intelligence for Medical Surgery system). This past Spring, Dr. Alexis Sanchez, Director of Robotic Surgery at Orlando Health, and Laura Brattain, UCF biomedical engineer, put their heads together in the operating room (OR). While observing a robotic surgery, the pair came up with an idea to track surgical tools in ORs. Through the new partnership, UCF students developed the idea into reality.

Courtney Adams, MSN, BSN, RN has joined Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch as chief operating officer, Tanya Knepp, MHA will serve as chief financial officer, Suzan Dolezal, MBA-HCM, BSN, CENP, RN, has been named chief nursing officer, and Richard Matte, MBA CST will serve as assistant vice president, business development at the hospital. These key hires showcase the strength of the hospital’s leadership in advance of the facility opening in the spring of 2026.
