Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital expanding cardiology services
Orlando, FL (February 19, 2026) – During American Heart Month, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is pleased to announce advanced electrophysiology and arrythmia services will soon be available in the west Orange County community. This comes as board-certified cardiologist and electrophysiologist Karnika Ayinapudi, MD joins the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. Ayinapudi specializes in heart rhythm disorders, cardiac ablation procedures, and cardiac device implantation and management.
Studies show that atrial fibrillation, which is an irregular heart rhythm, is becoming more prevalent among Americans.
“That’s why it’s important to expand specialized health services into our local communities, so that people don’t have to travel to get the high-quality care they need,” said Dr. Ayinapudi. “I’m looking forward to meeting new patients here in Ocoee and helping them navigate their heart care.”
To compliment her practice, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is building a new cardiac catheterization laboratory with specialized electrophysiology equipment. Currently, patients can receive pacemakers and defibrillators at Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital. Once the new lab is complete, cardiac ablations and other advanced procedures will also be available on site.
“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Ayinapudi on board and know she’ll be a great asset to our patients here in west Orange County,” said Maggie Bonko, Orlando Health vice president and president of Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital. “Expanding our electrophysiology care is another important piece in our mission, to continue bringing specialized providers and services to our hospital.”
Dr. Ayinapudi is currently practicing at the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute at Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital. To learn more about the cardiology services available on site, click here.
