Orlando Health South Lake Hospital Named a Top Community Hospital in the Nation

The hospital was the only one in Lake County to make the list

Clermont, FL (Aug. 5, 2025) – Orlando Health South Lake Hospital was recently named to the Becker’s Hospital Review 100 Great Community Hospitals list for 2025.

The list recognized community hospitals that are committed to clinical excellence, academic advancement and personalized, whole-person care delivery. It also acknowledges their dedication to improving health outcomes within the communities they serve. Hospitals do not and cannot pay for inclusion on the list.

“Community is at the core of our care,” said Lance Sewell, president, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital. “To be recognized by Becker’s as a top community hospital in the country is an honor and testament to that dedication we have shown the Lake County community for decades and will continue to show for many years to come.”

In addition, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital was just named a high performing hospital by U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice, for six categories for common adult procedures and conditions. It is also the only Leapfrog Group A-rated hospital in Lake County.
