Rollins Tennis Pro-Am Tournament Aces Fundraising for New Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion
Winter Pak, FL (February 2, 2026) — On January 24, 2026, the local community rallied at the new Rollins Tennis and Golf Center for Pro-Am Tournament that netted more than just scores.
The event featured a unique collaboration between student-athlete, the Orlando Health Sports Partnerships team and medical professionals including Joshua Yang MD, Chris Herron MD, David Sunnenberg MD, and Alejandro Jordan MD. Orlando Health also serves as the official medical team for the Rollins College Athletics Department. 100% of the funds raised from the tournament are being donated directly to Orlando Health, specifically to aid in the construction of the forthcoming Children's Pavilion—a facility destined to transform outpatient pediatric care in Central Florida.
“The Rollins Pro-Am Tournament was a powerful reminder of how the sport of tennis can unite people from all walks of life around a shared purpose: giving back to children and their families,” said Tasi Purcell Batista, head coach of Rollins Women’s Tennis. “Being part of such a meaningful and impactful event was truly a life-changing experience, and one for which both the men’s and women’s tennis teams, and our coaching and support staff, are deeply grateful.”
“Seeing the Rollins College tennis team bring their energy and kindness to the court to help Orlando Health was incredibly meaningful," said Andy Gardiner, senior vice president of external affairs and community relations at Orlando Health. "Their commitment to raising funds to support the Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion shows the powerful impact student-athletes can make even beyond their determination on the court.”
The funds raised will aid in the completion of the 189,000-square-foot facility, which is set to unite over 30 pediatric specialties and services under one roof. By centralizing outpatient care, the Children’s Pavilion will significantly reduce the burden on families and improve patient outcomes across the region.
