Orlando, FL (July 17, 2019) – Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital has named a new chief financial officer and chief nursing officer effective July 1, 2019. The new executives will join Shawn Molsberger, president of South Seminole Hospital, and Maggie Bonko, chief operating officer, in overseeing the daily operations at the Longwood facility.

Orlando Health recently earned more quality distinctions when two of its hospitals were rated the highest of any in Central Florida by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), according to Dr. Thomas Kelley, vice president of quality and clinical transformation at Orlando Health.

Orlando, FL (April 19, 2019) – Four Orlando Health nurses were recently recognized for their unique contributions to the nursing profession. Susan Fowler, PhD, RN, CNRN, FAHA was named Researcher of the Year by the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS). The award acknowledges nurses for accomplished sustained programs of research that significantly contribute to advancing the theory and practice of nursing. Dr. Fowler’s body of research includes an examination of new graduate nurses’ experiences in a nurse residency program; the training, planning and preparation nurses need to ensure the safety of hospitalized children with tracheostomies; and the novel use of a nurse-led stroke-responder telemedicine system.   

Orlando, FL (September 7, 2021) – Orlando Health opened the 2022 cycle of the Orlando Health Community Grant Program on September 7, 2021. As part of its ongoing commitment to Central Florida, the program offers competitive grants to assist local organizations and Orlando Health team members in their efforts to improve health and wellness in the region.

New program provides specialized diagnostic and treatment services for complex and general digestive and liver diseases.

St. Cloud, FL (April 19, 2021) – Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital announced the appointment of a new chief operating officer (COO) and chief quality officer (CQO) to strengthen clinical operations and innovation, as well as support a culture of continuous improvement. Both executive leaders will report directly to the president of the hospital, Ohme Entin.

Residents of the facility’s memory care unit joined loved ones, team members and community supporters as they walked and wheeled around the planned parade route just outside the facility’s front door. The nearly 70 participants wore t-shirts bearing the purple ribbon symbolizing Alzheimer’s awareness and carried purple pinwheels bearing the names of loved ones suffering from the disease.

Orlando, Fla. (October 29, 2021) – At a near full term pregnancy, Paola Gambini, began her 85-day hospital stay when difficulty breathing from COVID-19 led to an emergency C-section. The newborn was delivered at Orlando Health Winne Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Due to the severity of her condition, Paola was soon transferred to Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center for the duration of her care. The 32-year-old mom is now reunited at home with her baby and family.
