At the Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion – Winter Park, our experienced surgical team within the Breast Care and General Surgery Program offers care designed just for the unique needs of women. Our specialists provide compassionate, expert surgical services for women age 18 and up. We specialize in treating a variety of conditions, including breast cancer or suspected breast cancer. All of our patients are referred to us by another care provider, such as a primary care doctor or gynecologist.

Working in close collaboration with other specialty providers within the Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion, such as internal medicine [link to Internal Medicine page within this section] and OB/GYN [link to OB/GYN page within this section], we take a proactive approach to assessing a woman’s risk for breast cancer and then work quickly to make a diagnosis and care plan, when needed. In a single visit to the Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion, you can be seen by your internal medicine doctor, undergo a mammogram and then follow up with a breast care surgeon in the case of any troublesome findings. Having access to streamlined healthcare can help you be seen more quickly and make it easier for your healthcare team to work together effectively to help you get on your road to optimal health.

Program Offerings

Our team provides surgical care for many conditions that affect women, including:

Breast cancer, or suspected breast cancer
Breast fibroids
Gallbladder attacks
Hernias, including abdominal wall hernias
Laxity in the abdominal wall (diastasis recti)
Skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma and melanoma
Soft tissue nodules, such as cysts and lipomas

The services we provide for breast care include:

Biopsy
Lumpectomy (surgery in which cancerous tissue is removed from the breast)
Mastectomy (surgery in which the entire breast is removed due to cancerous tissue)
Lymph node biopsy

We also provide the following surgical services:

Excisions of skin cancer, cysts or lipomas
Gallbladder removal
Hernia repairs
Draining of abscesses

We can complete some minor procedures in-office here in the Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion. When possible, our surgeons use minimally-invasive or laparoscopic surgical methods to minimize your pain and post-surgical recovery period. For many hernia repairs, we can use the da Vinci robot to aid in surgery and maximize your results.
