Dr. Naren Ramakrishna is a board-certified radiation oncologist with Orlando Health Cancer Institute and Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He serves as medical director of the institute’s proton therapy program and specializes in adult and pediatric brain and spine tumors. His expertise includes:

Dr. Ramakrishna’s Training

Dr. Ramakrishna received his medical degree through the Medical Scientist Training Program at Cornell University’s Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He earned a doctorate in cell biology and genetics from the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Dr. Ramakrishna completed a radiation oncology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where he served chief resident. He also completed a Koch Research Fellowship in gene therapy and received an American Association for Cancer

Research-Glaxo Wellcome Oncology Scholar Award.

About Dr. Ramakrishna

Dr. Ramakrishna is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology. He served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School for eight years and was co-director of the brain and spine tumor program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / Brigham & Women’s Hospital and director of the CNS Radiation Oncology Fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Ramakrishna is a principal investigator on multiple studies focused on central nervous system malignancies. His research has been published in numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed medical journals, and he has developed treatment guidelines for brain metastases that are used internationally.

Outside of work, Dr. Ramakrishna enjoys music, songwriting, kayaking, hiking, rollerblading and cycling.
