Tell us a little about your background. I have a degree in recording arts. I was privileged to record a studio album immediately after graduation. I’ve done voiceovers, which are really fun to do. I’ve also worked some cool special events at Camping World Stadium in Orlando and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, like Monster Jam, Tampa Bay Buccaneers games and concerts.
What are some of your favorite hobbies? Listening to music and playing video games
What might someone be surprised to learn about you? I’m a listener. I like to listen more than I like to talk at times. It’s important to listen when doing interviews or getting to know someone.
What are you most looking forward to about the grand opening of Seacrest Studio? Making the studio bigger and better for our patients and team members. The grand opening will only add to the excitement and future possibilities for the studio.
How will the studio impact patients and families? The studio will provide a great outlet for our patients. It will allow them to explore and be a kid! When our patients are happy and enjoying themselves, so are their families and our teams.
What are three unexpected items on your desk? A LEGO business card holder, a framed picture of myself that was given to me by co-workers 40 minutes after the picture was taken (they surprised me with that) and a “Black Panther” Beanie Baby. I didn’t know they still made Beanie Babies.

Meet Our Patient Events Coordinator and Co-host of Seacrest Studios, Jay Brock
Meet Our Patient Events Coordinator and Co-host of Seacrest Studios, Jay Brock
Jay Brock has always been passionate about working with kids. As the patient events coordinator at Orlando Health Children's Arnold Palmer Hospital and co-host of the Seacrest Studios, Jay is responsible for developing fun and engaging activities to help kids in our hospital be kids. Learn more about Jay, including his background, hobbies and favorite things.
Tell us a little about your background. Before becoming the Patient Events Coordinator at Orlando Health Children's Arnold Palmer Hospital, I worked at the Orlando Health Foundation and severed a few different facilities. I was on the Children’s Miracle Network team fundraising for and creating
awareness about Orlando Health Children's Arnold Palmer Hospital and The Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families. I worked on the Make A Difference initiative helping to fundraise, lead tours and promote community engagement for Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital and Orlando Health Cancer Institute. Prior to joining Orlando Health, I worked for Ascension Health – St. Vincent’s One Nineteen where I served as the Aquatics and Children’s Programs Supervisor. I ran summer camps, after school programs and worked on healthy family initiatives. I also trained and managed lifeguards and supervised the swim team. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Management from Seminole State College. I did undergraduate work in marketing at the University of Alabama and I am currently enrolled as a graduate student in their online program to get a master degree in Health Studies. This program will allow me to become a certified health education specialist. I have been working with children’s programs since high school, where I taught extended day and worked at our summer camp program.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
- Bowling – I bowl on a league
- Swimming – I am a swim instructor and love the water
- Going to the theme parks – I love Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort
- Hiking, canoeing and kayaking – I love being outdoors
What might someone be surprised to learn about you? Here are a few things: I am a native Floridian. I was born in St. Augustine and grew up in Flagler County. When I was younger, I wanted to grow up and be a teacher, but that did not seem to be the right path for me. I was in the marching band from sixth grade until college, where I marched in the Million Dollar Band at the University of Alabama. I do not like eggs – in any form! I also have a little sister who is 25 years younger than I am.
What are you most looking forward to about the grand opening of Seacrest Studio? For me, the grand opening will signal the opportunity to bring in many of our corporate and community partners and have them help with activities and games. They have been unable to come to the hospital because of the pandemic and this will allow them much-wanted engagement because we can broadcast to all the rooms and have patients call down. I am also excited to share everything we have been working on with my family and friends. Being able to post on social media about all the great events happening in the studio will be a lot of fun for everyone. Beyond that, I am thrilled that our patients will be able to interview and meet some of their favorite celebrities.
How will the studio impact patients and families? The studio will be a wonderful tool to help us engage and offer many opportunities to our patients. In the past, our events were limited to those patients who were mobile and could leave their rooms. Now, we can take the events into the patients’ rooms and share wonderful programs with everyone. The studio will also allow us to tap into different interests that some of our young adult and adolescent patients might have regarding music or technology. The possibilities with the studio are limitless, and I can’t wait to share it all with our patients, families and the community.
