Dr. Abed Madanieh is a fellowship-trained pulmonologist at Orlando Health Medical Group Lung and Sleep Medicine. He specializes in treating a variety of lung conditions, including interstitial and obstructive lung disease. Dr. Madanieh also provides evidence-based care for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. He often works with patients who have been diagnosed with:
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Asthma
- Emphysema
- Sarcoidosis
- Pneumonia
Dr. Madanieh believes in treating every patient as if they were his family, and he enjoys seeing how his patients’ loved ones react as their condition begins to improve.
Dr. Madanieh’s Training
Dr. Madanieh received his medical training from Damascus University in Syria. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Madanieh is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians and American College of Physicians.
His research has been published on topics that include pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis, high-flow oxygen therapy and pulmonary fibrosis.
Outside of work, Dr. Madanieh likes to build or fix things at home and take road trips or go boating with his family. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
