Dr. Anthony Rongione is a board-certified cardiac and thoracic surgeon with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. He has a particular interest in bloodless cardiac surgery, and his specialties include:

  • Adult cardiothoracic surgery
  • Minimally invasive heart surgery
  • Advanced heart failure
  • Left ventricular assist device
  • Arterial revascularization
  • Aneurysms

Dr. Rongione believes in treating every patient as if they were family.

Dr. Rongione’s Training

Dr. Rongione earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, followed by an internship and residency in general surgery at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He completed specialization in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.

About Dr. Rongione

Dr. Rongione is certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

As an accomplished member of the medical community, he has served as an investigator on eight clinical trials, written nearly 50 abstracts plus a book chapter, published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at medical conferences across the country.

Outside of work, Dr. Rongione enjoys traveling.
