Bobby L. Gibbons II, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon who joined Orlando Health Medical Group Surgery in 2016. Dr. Gibbons specializes in minimally invasive and robotic general surgery with a focus on hernia repair and complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
Dr. Gibbons currently serves as Director of the Orlando Health Complex Hernia Center, Chairman of the Dr P. Phillips Department of Surgery, as well as site director and teaching faculty to the general surgery residency program at Orlando Health.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Gibbons worked in research and design of medical simulation technologies and curricula at Vanderbilt. Following this, he earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at Orlando Health where he presented research at multiple national meetings.
Dr. Gibbons is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association. He has particular interests in surgical quality, technology development, surgeon leadership and surgical education. Dr. Gibbons is fluent in English and Spanish.
