Dr. Brian Hernandez is a fellowship-trained laryngologist with the Head and Neck Cancer Center at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. As a laryngologist, he focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of voice, airway and swallowing disorders. His skills include treating:
- Swallowing impairment and dysphagia
- Late effects of radiation treatment of head and neck cancers
- Problems related to the voice
- Vocal cord lesions and paralysis
- Airway stenosis
Dr. Hernandez takes a team-based and comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating patients. He ensures that his patients are at the center of the decision-making process in order to create a personalized treatment plan.
Dr. Hernandez’s Training
Dr. Hernandez earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He completed an otolaryngology – head and neck surgery residency with the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, followed by a laryngology fellowship at the University of California, Davis in Sacramento.

Dr. Hernandez is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. His medical research has been published in The Laryngoscope and the Journal of Voice.
Outside of work, Dr. Hernandez enjoys cooking, baking, exploring new restaurants and spending time with his family. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
