Bio
Brook Garcia is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. She works with thoracic surgeons, and her experience includes:
- Providing pre- and post-operative care
- Assisting with and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Coordinating cardiac clearances
- Educating patients and their families about treatment plans
- Administering medication
- Assisting with research studies
- Collaborating with other providers to expedite patient care
- Helping patients to cope physically and mentally during cancer therapy
Before she joined the cancer institute, Brook worked alongside cardiologists and neurologists at Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital providing specialized nursing care to her patients. Her compassionate and professional care has been recognized several times by patients and colleagues. She received the Nursing of Excellence award in 2021 and was a Daisy Award winner in 2020 and 2021.
Brook’s Training
Brook received her bachelor’s degrees in business administration and management in health service from Strayer University in Maitland, Florida, and in nursing from ECPI University in Lake Mary, Florida. She earned her master’s in nursing in the family nurse practitioner program from Walden University in Minneapolis.

Brook is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed as an APRN and registered nurse in Florida.
She is a member of the American Nursing Association and Walden Alumni Association.
Outside of work, Brook enjoys volunteering, cooking, traveling, boating and attending sporting events.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
